This place really is wonderful. The entire compound is homey, warm, and inviting. Even in October, in an unseasonably cold week, the place was marvelous – defined by gorgeous skies and views. I can imagine that staying here in the summer would be paradise. Gracious managment, friendly, and enormously helpful in every way. Cannot recommend this place enough if you come with a car and wish to jaunt around Tuscany.<\/p>\n<\/div>

We stayed almost 2 weeks at Poggio d’Oro in an apartment with 3 bedrooms. Actually, it was a mansion with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a tower with 2 extra beds. Pool perfectly clean the whole day. Views from every corner were absolutely idylic. Communication and check in\/out were easy and very welcoming. Perfect location for exploring the region, but a car is a must!!! Really enjoyed going every morning to San Donato for coffee and pastry. The village is totally underestimated, has a local atmosphere and a few good restaurants. Would definitely come back someday for such a stay in the summer.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Het verblijf bij Poggio d\u2019Oro was super. De locatie is prachtig, maar ook het huisje was erg schoon en netjes. Wij zijn hier een week geweest en hebben veel dagtrips gemaakt in Toscane. Heerlijk om dan terug te komen en nog even af te koelen in het zwembad. Marco is ontzettend vriendelijk, en geeft goede tips. Ik zou dit verblijf zeker aanraden.<\/p>\n<\/div>

We absolutely loved our stay here! Our villa was immaculately clean, wonderfully appointed, roomy yet cozy, nice kitchen, and had a great terrace with lovely view of the Tuscan hillsides. San Donato is centrally located to many other towns and villages in Tuscany — perfect for half-day or day trips. Marco is super responsive and very helpful with any and all recommendations for the area. Highly recommend staying at Poggio D’Oro during your visit to Tuscany!<\/p>\n<\/div>

My girlfriend and I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying here – truly a hidden gem in a fantastic location in the Tuscany countryside. To add to this, the managment is incredibly attentive, welcoming, and friendly host and made check-in and check-out a breeze. The views from the estate are absolutely breathtaking on the warm, autumnal mornings that we stayed and there are good links to all of the nearby villages and vineyards in the area. San Donato itself is small but has everything you need to have a quiet night out with a few beers or a glass of wine. Overall, it was fantastic and I would recommend it to anyone as a potential location on their next trip to Tuscany. The morning views over the Tuscan hills alone are worth the money. Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to use the Tennis facilities or the Swimming Pool but perhaps if we make a return visit we will find the time to do so.<\/p>\n<\/div>
